Yannis Evmolpidis is the vice president at the Green Fund, a public entity under the Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy. The Green Fund manages €120 million annually of environmental funds and allocates them in projects that enhance the environmental footprint and mitigate climate change by financing local authorities. Yannis is an Urban Planner with graduate studies in Urban Planning and Real estate Development from Columbia University and an Executive MSc. in Metropolitan Governance of Large Cities from EPFL. Previously, he was the senior advisor of the Mayor of Athens in urban planning and sustainability. In this capacity, he was responsible for coordination and management of the municipality’s urban redevelopment projects and planning strategies to revitalize the historic city center and enhance energy efficiency and was involved in securing over €180 million of EU and national funding.
